Laura Manitta, a pianist from Orlando, and Michelle Painter, a violinist from Tampa were chosen from 20 contestants as the winners of the 2007-2008 ISO Young Artist Competition.

The Imperial Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition takes place on Saturday, December 1, 2007. Winners earn the opportunity to perform with the ISO on the February 5, 2008 Masterworks Concert, "Overtures, Marches & Young Artists." Application deadline is 5pm, November 15, 2007.

Hear the music of the Beatles the way it's meant to be played- with band and live symphony orchestra. The band, Classical Mystery Tour, looks and sounds just like the Beatles, and two of the band's members were in the original cast of the Broadway hit Beatlemania. The Orchestra is 37 members of Polk County's own Imperial Symphony Orchestra. Join Classical Mystery Tour with the ISO at 7:30pm on February 3 at Polk Theatre.

Four young artist winners were selected in the ISO's own version of "American Idol" to perform on stage with the ISO. You won't want to miss "Youth in Concert" at 7:30pm on Tuesday, March 13th in Youkey Theatre at The Lakeland Center.
Symphony's Opera Night at Success

The ISO's sixth annual "A Night at the Opera" fundraiser took place on Jan. 20 at the Polk Theatre in Lakeland. It was a grand night for the singing actors, orchestra members, artistic, production and technical staff. Their hard work resulted in a spectacular performance by the stellar cast of guest and local talent that was truly appreciated by the attendees.

The Imperial Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition takes place in the Annie MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall (Branscomb 202) at Florida Southern College on Saturday, January 6, 2007. Winners earn the opportunity to perform with the ISO on the March 13, 2007 Masterworks "Youth in Concert." This January 6 auditions are open to the public with the audition schedule to be posted on the ISO website at www.imperialsymphony.org a few days before the school holiday break.
